There are many ways to be active at TBI and in the community; Take a look at the committees to see if one or more works for you! All members are invited to join!
Member Connections Committee
This group focuses on attracting, welcoming, integrating, engaging, and retaining members of the temple. The group meets approximately once a month, and its members contact people who express an interest in joining the temple, streamline and refine the procedures associated with completing the initial membership application, and plan events to introduce and welcome new members. The committee organizes religious, social, and cultural events throughout the year to strengthen the ties that existing members have to the temple community.
Caring Circle Committee
This group offers support services to our temple community during periods of illness, isolation, and/or bereavement. Services include assistance with transportation (to temple, doctor’s appointments, etc.); grocery shopping; friendly phone calls; visits to homes, hospitals, rehab centers, or nursing homes; emergency meals; sending caring notes and cards; and other assistance as needed. A list of volunteers is maintained, who are occasionally called upon to provide assistance as needed. Click here for contact information for the Caring Circle.
Social Action Committee
The Social Action Committee exists to provide the congregants of Temple B’nai Israel with opportunities to practice Tikkun Olam (“repairing the World”) through volunteer opportunities, food drives, and other community activities. For more information, please contact Robin Pollens. Click here for more information about volunteer opportunities through TBI.
Religious Activities Committee
